crazy picots

I'm always prepping new ideas, new designs and sketching out things that I want to design and make. For ages I have had a string bag kinda thing going on, desperate to recreate the kind of string bags cool chicks used in the 1970s. In my head these cool chicks are always french, they wear flares and halternecks and usually have a baguette or two stuffed in their chic string bags.

This crazy picot mesh from Betty Barden's Handbook of Crochet Stitches looked perfect, not just string but pretty, picot string...yeehaw, but as you will see, the mesh works up so big that I'd be dropping them baguettes all the way home!

For this swatch I'm using Cascade Anthem in the colour Tangerine (23) and a basic aluminium hook (because I've lost my lovely favourite hook).
